Oklahoma State Lodge History

Since 1951, the State Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police, of Oklahoma has represented all peace officers in the state. Concentrating, in those early days, on law enforcement retirement issues, the Oklahoma F.O.P. now boasts a nationally recognized retirement system and binding arbitration in labor disputes with municipal police.

This has not been an easy road. Fighting for law enforcement's 1st Amendment rights to organize into self help organizations like F.O.P., and protecting the "due process" rights of peace officers in trouble, has always been the priority of the Oklahoma F.O.P.. With over 5,000 current Oklahoma F.O.P. members, the Fraternal Order of Police, is proof that peace officers who organize for a common purpose can accomplish any goal.

This web site is only one indication of the F.O.P.'s continuing obligation to serve its members.
